Last Friday saw a double elevation ceremony at Mount Ararat Lodge. From the moment the lodge was opened by the Worshipful Commander, Bro Andrew McMath, we all knew we were in for a good evening of Masonic ritual. The candidates were Brothers Frank Laird, a member of Newton Mark Lodge and Philip Marrow a member of Ridgmont Mark Lodge. The senior deacon Alex Hammond was away on business, so a stand in had to be found, and who better that our Assistant Provincial Grand Master Bro Ian Nairn, to fill this position. |

| With assistance from other members of Mount Ararat Lodge Bro Frank & Philip were elevated in a sincere and exemplary manor. The working tools were given by the Director of Ceremonies W Bro Maurice Evans and explanation of the nine steps was given by Bro Eric Bulcock SW who by the end of the meeting was the Commander Elect for the ensuing year. | |
